Globalize your Business. Go Where the Money Is!|
Expanding your online marketing efforts can feel like blind gambling, but it doesn’t have to.
In addition to the relevance of your product to a particular culture, there are quantifiable considerations of market size and affluence. “T-Index analysis*" helps identify likely success areas by combining the internet population of a country with the corresponding GDP per capita.
For example, the United States, with 245 million internet users and an average GDP per capita of $57,627, had a T-index of 24.4% in 2011 and is currently the market with the highest potential for online sales. However, the projection for 2015 is that it will drop to 16.8%, second place behind China.
The T-index data from a recent study* forecasts that your current ROI could be greatest in the U.S., China, Japan, Germany and the U.K. Online presence in those 5 countries gives you access to 50% of the world’s online market. If you localize your website for the following 15 countries in addition, you will be reaching 80% of the world’s online market: France, Brazil, Russia, S. Korea, Italy, Canada, Spain, Mexico, Turkey, India, Australia, Taiwan, Iran, Netherlands, Argentina.
Of course payment methods, distribution costs, possible censorship, and many other factors must be figured into any ROI equation. But T-Index analysis can help when your global expansion decisions can benefit from data regarding the basic buying power of different online markets.
If you would like more information on this topic or consultancy from our experienced globalization professionals, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Skrivanek for research and education
Skrivanek for research and education
On 13th of April a Fiat Scodo financed by local companies, was handed over ceremoniously to the Humboldt University of Berlin.
As part of a sponsorship campaign local companies support the university financially and appear as their company logos on the minibus. As an international translation agency, which involves constantly new technologies in their work processes, it's a matter of great concern to promote research. Skrivanek was very pleased about the possibility to take part in the handover. Sales Consultant of Skrivanek, Michal Rossa, was there and had the possibility to gain an impression of the minibus. Despite the rain, it was a very nice event and the minibus will surely prove itself as useful when it comes to expeditions into the open.

Celebrate International Translation Day with us
International Translation Day has been celebrated all over the world on September 30th since 1953. This date was chosen to pay tribute to St. Jerome, the saint and especially patron of translators and interpreters.
St. Jerome died on September 30th in the year 419 in Bethlehem, but he had already built the cornerstone for the translation profession by aiming to overcome language barriers amongst various cultures; he translated the Holy Bible and promoted language teaching.
Skrivanek is also overcoming language barriers and is ready to crack every translation nut for you!
Happy International Translation Day to all!

10. European Day of Languages
Since the European Year of Languages in 2001, the 26th of September has seen the European Day of languages celebrated throughout Europe. Proclaimed by the European Council in Strasbourg, this year's holiday marks the tenth annual celebration.
There are more than 200 indigenous European languages which have to be classified and protected. This is the first aim of the European Day of Languages. Moreover, the development of multilingualism is also of high importance. The European Council wants Europeans to speak more languages and thus improve their chances on the labor market. By this, the Council already provides for the personal gain of Europeans who learn new languages. However, many Europeans think the majority of the world's population still only speaks one language when at least half of them have a good command of two or even more languages. On the European Day of languages numerous events are organized across 45 European countries to motivate both the young and old to learn a foreign language.
By the way, the European languages spoken most in their mother tongue are Russian, German, English, French and Italian – in that order. If you don't master all of these languages it's no bother at all. Skrivanek will help you translate documents of different subject areas into many European and non-European languages on demand – not only once a year.
